2017 Chrysler 300 gets four-star safety rating

640 × 480
The 2017 Chrysler 300 has just been awarded a four-star safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It earned four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test. The IIHS have yet to rate the new 300 but we fully expect it to perform well there too.

The 2017 Chrysler 300 has tamed much of the brashness of previous models in favour of comfortable refinement. While still broad shouldered and very masculine, it is a much nicer car to look at and drive. Chrysler have so far made all the right changes in all the right places and is quite safe too.

Safety features can include electronic stability control, hill start assist, a rearview camera, front- and side-curtain airbags and an inflatable driver's knee bolster. Optional safety technology includes forward collision warnings with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency services call-assist using Uconnect.

2017 Chrysler 300
The 2017 Chrysler 300 is an excellent option for those buyers wanting a bit of contemporary luxury and who want to buy domestic. It is more attractive and up to date than other North American luxury brands too, so doesn’t fall short on anything significant.

The new softer design is nicely balanced. It still cuts an imposing figure on the road and still exudes power, but with a more refined look of a design that has come of age. No more teenage shoulder and chest puffing here. Now we have a more mature design that knows its capabilities and is comfortable in its own skin.

The cabin is very spacious given the wheelbase of the 300. It can seat five adults in comfort and has enough comfort all round for just about anyone. Add some quality materials, decent levels of finishing and lots of technology on tap and you have a very nice place to be whether going to the store or on a road trip.

Under the hood is either a 3.6-litre V6 that produces 292 hp (300 hp on the S) or a 5.7-litre V8 that produces 363 hp. Both use an eight speed automatic transmission to send power to the rear or all wheels. The ride is refined and even in the corners, you’re not overburdened by the car’s size. It is a well-balanced ride that holds its own regardless of the road or terrain.

The 2017 Chrysler 300 is a solid update to an established design. With plenty of power and refinement across the board, it is an obvious choice for those wanting power and luxury from a domestic automaker.
