2016 Nissan Maxima gets a five star safety rating

One of the best looking sedans to come out of Japan has had
us all looking enviously at Collins Nissan for the best part of a month now. The
2016 Nissan Maxima is a handsome beast that combines nice design with a good
engine, fantastic interior and great looks. It can now add a five-star safety
rating from NCAP to its resume now too.

NCAP have just announced that the 2016 Nissan Maxima has
earned five-star occupant safety scores across the board, making it one of the
safest vehicles on the road. It aced all the tests including the frontal crash,
side crash, and rollover tests. The only test it didn't earn five stars was the
side pole test in which it earned four.

Other testing agencies have yet to put the new Maxima
through its paces but we confidently expect it to ace those too. We covered the
2016 Nissan Maxima a short while ago and we loved what we saw. Here's a
reminder of the highlights.

2016 Nissan Maxima

The 2016 Nissan Maxima has all-new styling that is making
waves across the auto industry. We think it is currently the best looking sedan
on the market. The chassis sits lower and is slightly longer than the outgoing
model. The flowing lines and sporty design make it a very desirable car.

The car has a typically excellent interior with plenty of
soft touch materials, great finishing and an aura of quality throughout.
Generous passenger space and plenty of technology ensures Nissan retains its
title of builder of some of the best cabins in the world.

Under the hood is a 3.5-litre V6 gasoline engine that delivers
300 hp and 261 lb-ft of torque. It uses a CVT transmission to send power to the
front wheels. The engine has received a number of updates that improves
performance across the board. It is now smoother and silkier than ever before
offering a lovely drive whatever the conditions.

With five trim levels offering everything from alloy wheels
to keyless entry and ignition, leather interior to navigation there is
something here for every desire and every budget.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima is a sporty looking car that has
great road manners and a smooth drive. That makes it suitable for any owner and
any situation and a car that looks this good isn't going to stay around long!
