2016 Ford Transit design
The design of the 2016 Ford Transit effortlessly combines
decent looks with flexible configurations. The design comes from Ford’s
European van line that offers a more aerodynamic shape than before. In standard
configurations, the front grille and small sloped hood flow into a huge angled
windshield, into a sloped roof and along until the flat rear end.
Inside, the cabin is wide and spacious and that windshield
and generous side windows let in a lot of light. Seats are supportive and can
include armrests while the dashboard takes cues from Ford sedans and offers a
much higher quality interior than you might imagine for a cargo van.
There are literally hundreds of configuration options for
the 2016 Ford Transit. They include standard panel, flatbed, coach and more.
There are 58 van configurations plus the many trims and optional extras to
choose from. You can literally design a Transit for just about every use
Engine and transmission
There are three engine options available for the 2016 Ford
Transit. They include a 3.7-litre V6 that produces 275 h and 260 lb-ft of
torque, an EcoBoost 3.5-litre V6 that produces 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque
and a 3.2-litre diesel engine that delivers 185 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.
Each uses a six speed automatic transmission to send power
to the rear wheels.
