Ford Fiesta is the perfect example of how an automaker evolves over the years.
Introduced by Ford in Europe back in the 1980s, the Fiesta has a long and illustrious
history. Even over here where we like them big, since its introduction in 2011
this little subcompact has been taken to our hearts.
2016 Ford Fiesta design
of the 2016 Ford Fiesta is modern, sharp and attractive. For such a small
chassis, the panels of the Fiesta contain a lot of features. This new model
echoes the design changes across all Ford models, with angular grille, shaped
headlights, fluted panels, alloy wheels and a tight design that works whichever
side of the Atlantic Ocean you might be on.
The cabin echoes
this philosophy. Even though this is a subcompact, it doesn't feel like one
inside. It also feels anything but cheap. The materials are top quality and put
together well. Carefully selected trim adds character and that premium feel to
the interior while the available technology is generous to say the least.
and cargo space is also surprisingly spacious given this cars size. Front
passengers get the lion's share of space, but rear passengers get plenty and
the hatch offers a practical way to carry your things. The sedan works too.
Engines and transmission
three engine options for the 2016 Ford Fiesta. The base engine is a 1.6-litre
four cylinder that produces 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque. It uses either a
five speed manual or six speed automatic transmission. There is also an
optional 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine that is good for 123 hp and 125
lb-ft of torque. It uses the five speed manual.
ST gets a turbocharged 1.6 that delivers 197 hp and 202 lb-ft of torque. A six
speed manual is your only option here.
are preppy and buzzing with energy. Even the base engine has enough power to
zip around the city quite happily.
