2015 Durango R/T gets new options

2015 Durango R/T gets new options

The 2015 Durango R/T is one of our favourite day to day
Dodge vehicles. After the redesign, it's a very nice SUV to live with. It's
great around town, comfortable on the highway and easy to pack, load and take
the family on holiday. It's exactly what we come to expect from our SUVs.

Dodge have recently announced two new changes to the options
list. You will now be able to order your 2015 Durango R/T with a red leather
interior. A set of 20" polished Granite Crystal wheels will also be
available to make your SUV that little more striking.

2015 Durango R/T

The 2015 Durango R/T is the third generation of the SUV and
the best yet. Based on the same chassis as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, you know
you're in for a good ride when you climb on board.

It's a three row SUV that can carry up to seven passengers
in comfort. Opt for the HEMI engine and you can tow up to 7,400 pounds if you
need to. The cabin is spacious, well-built and comfortable. The driving
position is upright and offers excellent visibility all round. R/T models offer
a multifunction display in the instrument cluster and a touchscreen in the
centre stack with UConnect Access.

Under the hood is a 3.6-litre V6 engine that produces 290 hp
and 390 lb-ft of torque. There is also a 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine as an option
that delivers an impressive 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.

The V8 comes with the new cylinder deactivation system that
shuts down four pots when they aren't needed contributing to a much more
sensible gas mileage estimate. Then, when you put the hammer down, all eight
cylinders roar into life and give you everything they have.

All 2015 Durango R/T's come with the new ZF eight speed
automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Two wheel drive is standard but
four wheel drive is an option.

The R/T trim offers 20 inch alloy wheels, HID headlamps,
sports suspension, power accessories, LED lighting, adjustable front seats,
leather interior and a Beats by Dr. Dre audio system. The options list is of
course huge and now includes these two new options.

We think the 2015 Durango R/T is a solid performer that
keeps getting better with age. In R/T guise, you don't just get an SUV with
sporty bits bolted on, you get the suspension and engine to back it up. It's
the perfect package as far as we're concerned!
