The Mercedes-Benz CLS has always been ahead of the curve. Those in the auto industry always look to the Mercedes-Benz CLS and S-class to check out the next big thing in technology. If something new is featured in either of these models, it will be coming to other models in the coming years. It is like a barometer for the auto industry.
Mercedes-Benz CLS
The 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 is built on an E-class chassis that delivers a smooth and stable ride. Composed Airmatic suspension, precise steering and switchable driving modes ensures the car is always on point and always giving you the best driving experience possible.
The design is sleek in all senses of the word. The flowing lines begin at that low slung front end and angled lights with the Mercedes-Benz badge and grille fitting seamlessly into the design. The flow continues with a smooth curve both on the roof and waistline to the equally shapely trunk and rear section. It is a unique design that is still used today because it is so good.
Inside, the cabin is compact but perfectly formed. The intent of the CLS was to provide comfort and luxury without creating distance between occupants. The level of finishing is superb, exactly as you would expect from Mercedes-Benz. Materials are top quality, the features list is huge and everything is just so.
Under the sweeping hood is a 5.5-litre V8 engine that produces 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. It uses a 7 speed automatic transmission to send power to the rear wheels. The size of the engine means power delivery is effortless and you can hardly hear the engine at idle even from the outside. Once inside, all you hear is a reassuring hum, more from the tires than motor.
The features list is long and includes Backup Sensor, Power Sunroof, Leather Interior, Keyless Entry, Climate Control, Memory Seats, Cruise Control, Leather Wrap Wheel, Power Lift Gates and Heated Seats.
