caught a glimpse of the new 2016 Maxima at the New York Auto show last week.
It's a car we have been looking forward to for a while now. The Maxima is a
firm favourite at Collins Nissan, so hopes were high that this new model would
elevate the brand. We weren't disappointed!
bringing back the 4DSC label for the 2016 Nissan Maxima. That's 4 Door Sports
Car. While we don't subscribe to those kinds of marketing gimmicks, the Maxima
certainly does have a sporty feel to it.
is very much like the hint we got in that Super Bowl ad. It's long, low and
downward sloped toward the front. The long hood slopes down to the grille at
the front. Angled headlights look modern and masculine, while the lower grille
adds fog lights and a scoop-like lower splitter.
lots of body details on the 2016 Nissan Maxima. The wheel arches are
interestingly flared, with a panel detail that curves around the bulge of each
wheel. There is also a lower door detail that adds a shadow to the profile. A
fastback-style roofline into the Audi-eque rear completes the look. It is a
very handsome car.

further credence to the sports intent of the Maxima, is the engine. A 3.5-litre
V6 motor that generates 300 hp and 261 lb-ft of torque. It's a new version of
the Nissan VQ-series engine that has been tweaked to improve power and fuel
efficiency. It will use an Xtronic CVT transmission to send power to the rear
keep the car on the road it has independent suspension, new rear dampers,
vented front brakes and 18 inch alloy wheels. Technology helps too as the 2016
Nissan Maxima features predictive forward collision warnings, forward emergency
braking, intelligent cruise control, blind spot warnings, rear cross-traffic
alerts and the option to add Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection
and Driver Attention Alert system.
2016 Nissan Maxima is a very nice place to be. It has a cockpit-style driver's
position with a curved dashboard, joystick style shifter, large touchscreen and
buttons and lights everywhere. Special "zero gravity" seats are said
to be able to conform to your particular body shape, but we didn't get to try
We like the
2016 Nissan Maxima a lot. We are pleased to see the concept made real, the
concentration on comfort and performance remain and that the cabin is nicely
finished. We can't wait to get our hands on one!
Nissan Maxima should be available this summer.
