From Wednesday 27 March, the New York Auto Show will be in full swing and the great and the good of the automotive world will be oo-ing and aah-ing over each of the new concepts on show. It is arguably one of the largest shows of its kind, even if it’s set in a city where less than 50 percent of the residents don’t even own a car.
So what have we got to look forward to at the show?
2014 Jeep Cherokee
We covered the 2014 Jeep Cherokee last week as it replaces the Liberty and makes a very welcome comeback. The new model is part Fiat, using its Compact U.S. Wide (CUSW) platform to deliver what seems like an excellent on and off-road drive.
2014 Hyundai Equus
The curiously named luxury sedan from Hyundai is also featuring at the show with a mid-season update. According to a press release, the Equus gets more than 30 changes and improvements across the board. It’s already quite an accomplished car, so it will be interesting to see who much better it becomes in this refresh.
2014 SRT Viper TA
The 2014 SRT Viper TA, or “Time Attack” is Dodge’s answer to being beaten by Chevrolet in the on-going lap time battle between the Viper and the Corvette. The main changes are all around the handling, with suspension and weight improvements being made. SRT have hinted at other changes but we don’t know anything about them yet.
2014 Dodge Durango
The 2014 Dodge Durango SUV will also be appearing in its new guise at the New York Auto Show. The Detroit automaker has kept everything under wraps for now, but promised improvements across the board.
As always, we’ll be watching the reveals, listening for hints and generally picking up whatever interesting information we can during the show. Check back here to see what we find!
