Kia release a teaser image for
a new crossover vehicle they are apparently showing at the Chicago Auto Show later this week. Called the Kia Cross GT Concept, there isn’t much to know right now except for the image itself.
As you can see from the image, it doesn’t give much away.
It’s interesting because this will be coming on the heels of the new 2014 Kia Sorento, which is also a contender in the SUV/crossover market. While Kia have hinted that the Cross GT will be larger, it remains to be seen how much larger and how it will differ from that new Sorento.
Kia also released news of another concept they will be showing this year at the Geneva Motor Show. That model was described as a “a provocative and racy new urban concept car.” Again, few details were released. That news was on top of the news that Kia will also be showing the Kia pro_cee’d GT and cee’d GT at Geneva in March.
The two subcompacts are being hotly anticipated as they are both going to be sporty cars that will go head to head with established kings of the ring like the Volkswagen GTI and Honda Civic Type R.
It’s a busy year for Kia so far and it’s only going to get busier. With plenty more auto shows to go this year and we’re only in February, it will be interesting to see what else the Korean automaker comes up with.
Patience isn’t something motoring journalists are known for, but Kia seems intent on testing it!
